Opening Ceremony 2009 of the Master's Programme Land Management and Land Tenure

As another academic year begins at the Technische Universität München a new group of international students commenced the journey towards the attainment of the degree of Master of Science (Msc) in Land Management and Land Tenure.

While our senior students are currently working on their Master's Theses it was a great pleasure to welcome our new students in the Opening Ceremony 2009 which took place on October 12th at our Centre of Land, Water and Environmental Risk Management.

The Opening Ceremony 2009 was also the occasion to hand over the Promotion Award 2009 of the Förderkreis Bodenordnung und Landentwicklung München e.V.

This year's prize winner is Dr.-Ing. Fahria Masum, the first Alumna of the Master's Programme Land Management and Land Tenure to receive a Dr Degree. Her thesis topic was "Actors and processes behind urban fringe development: Mechanism to guide urban land management. Study on Dhaka, Bangladesh".

Her thesis was graded with a 1,0 (Summa cum laude) and the Prize is hence awarded by the Förderkreis for her outstanding performance in her doctoral research.
