3rd Annual Trip to Chiemsee (Hosted by the Bayerischer Bauindustrieverband e.V.)

Besides all the preparations for examinations and the Master's Thesis the Master's Course took some time for enjoying the third annual daytrip to Chiemsee on Monday 20th of July 2009. Like last year this wonderful and interesting trip was hosted by the Bayerischer Bauindustrieverband e.V.

Firstly the students were invited to ascend with a ropeway on the 1669m high Kampenwand, a popular bavarian mountain for hiking in the Chiemgau. As reward for their efforts they received the wounderful panorama over this beautiful rural part of Bavaria as well as a typical bavarian meal called "Brotzeit" in a mountain shelter.

Refreshed by this they passed with some rowboats the Chiemsee, the biggest lake of Bavaria, to the Fraueninsel - German for the "isle of the women". After joining a guided tour through this delightful, only 300 inhabitants exhibiting small isle the participants made a break once again in one of the numerous restaurants of the isle, which are famous for their fish dishes.

The Bayerischer Bauindustrieverband e.V., as one of the most important sponsors of the Master's Programme Land Management and Land Tenure, is deeply committed to supporting the programme and is therefore very interested in having an insight of the research projects carried out by the students every year.

Once again Gerhard Hess (CEO of the Bayerischer Bauindustrieverband e.V.) accompanied the students and staff of the Master's Programme Land Management and Land Tenure in this trip.

The Centre of Land and Environmental Risk Management would like to thank Mr. Hess and his staff of the Bayerischer Bauindustrieverband e.V. for the organization of this faboulous daytrip.
