International Alliance on Land Tenure and Administration (IALTA)

The international Alliance on Land Tenure and Administration (IALTA) is a newly established international network of land management professionals and institutions first initiated by the Faculty of Law of the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, in collaboration with international partners, including our TUM Centre of Land, Water and Environmental Risk Management.

"The overarching goal of IALTA is to contribute to sustainable land administration in a globalized context through research collaboration that brings together academics from disciplines and knowledge-based organizations to share knowledge and data, develop and discuss research and help practitioners and policy makers improve their understanding and practices concerning land tenure and administration". This overarching goal is in line with the strong comittment of the Centre of Land, Water and Environmental Risk Management to promote the establishment of a Global Academic Partnership (GAP) as indicated by Prof. Magel in his keynote speech at the 7th FIG Regional Conference held in Hanoi Vietnam in October 2009.
