The 2011 Graduates

After 3 semesters of hard work, 13 students of our Master's Programme Land Management and Land Tenure attained the degree of Master of Science in Land Management and Land Tenure.

The Graduation Ceremony 2011 took place on March 29th 2011 as previous years at the Headquarters of the Bavarian Construction Industry Association in Munich.

The ceremony was not only a celebration for our graduates, but also for the Laureates of the Gerhard Hess Medal "For a Fair World" awarded to Prof. Dr. Franz-Volker Müller, GIZ Team Leader Cambodia (Golden Medal) and to Mayor Michael Pelzer, Weyarn (Silver Medal).

The Board of the Förderkreis decided to award the Golden Medal of the Förderkreis Bodenordnung und Landentwicklung München e.V. to Prof. h.c. Dr. habil. Franz-Volker Müller based on his outstanding contribution to the stabilization of the academic cooperation between the Technische Universität München and the Royal University of Agriculture of Cambodia in the field of Land Management, his support to the Master’s Programme Land Management and Land Tenure and the tutoring of students as well as organisation of internships abroad.

The Silver Medal of the Förderkreis Bodenordnung und Landentwicklung München e.V. was awarded to Mayor Michael Pelzer based on his long standing merit as promoter of the Chair of Land Management. Mr. Michael Pelzer receives the medal for his exemplary contribution to the achievement of the goals of the Chair of Land Management in capacity building and Research as well as for his valuable support in the organisation of excursions as well as in assignments and theses of Bachelor's and Master's students.

As every year, the President's Award for Best Thesis and Best Student were handed over during the Graduation Ceremony. This year the Awards were presented by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Müller (Dean of TUM Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy) on behalf of TUM's President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.mult. Wolfgang A. Herrmann. The Award winners were Mr. Michael Appiah (Ghana, Best Thesis) and Mr. Elias Kuusaana (Ghana, Best Student).
