TUM - Technische
Universität
München
The Master’s Program
"Land
Management and Land Tenure" is a three semester program. In their first
and second semester students take classes at Technische
Universität
München. During the first semester students are introduced to the
basic elements of land management and land tenure. In the second
semester
students are trained in methods and instruments needed for sustainable
land management. The third semester is dedicated to the Master’s Thesis.
The Master’s Program
also
includes two integrated internships:
- the first
one -
taking place
between the first and second semester – provides students with the
opportunity
to apply their theoretical knowledge in the practical work of public
and
private institutions dealing with land management in Germany.
- the second
one –
following the
second semester – gives students an opportunity to gain practical
experience
in a foreign country such as their home country. This internship abroad
can be done in projects of international (technical or financial)
cooperation
where Land Tenure and / or Land Management is looked at from a
technical
and a political perspective and dealt with at different levels - the
local
as well as the national. It can also be done in another institution
that
specifically addresses land management issues. This internship which
lasts
for 10 weeks should already include field work for the Master’s Thesis.
