Land readjustment and land development have
always been confronted with changing conditions, nowadays not only on
national, regional or local levels, but also on global and European
levels. In this transformation process, the planned and current
research activities of the chair are concentrated on the examination of
possibilities of land regulation and land development for the
strengthening of the economic position and quality of life of central
places, villages and their environs, especially in rural areas.
At the moment, following research topics are
being worked on:
- future trends, visions and strategies in
village renewal, land management etc.
- good governance, sustainable land development
- computer-aided land readjustment
- evaluation of land using GIS and GPS
- requirements for education and continuing education in the
field of international land development
Future research topics could be:
- evaluation and efficiency of village renewal and of
structural measurements of the European Union
- cooperation of urban planning measures and redevelopment /
renewal with measurements of rural land readjustment in central places
- examination of the contributions of land readjustment and
land development in the fields of nature conservation and landscape
preservation
- agrarian structure development plannings for the reduction
of planning work
- application of new computer-aided planning methods,
especially use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in complex
land development and village renewal
